Football star Mohamed Salah has signed a new three-year contract worth more than £350,000-a-week with Liverpool.
With such deal, the 30-year-old becomes the highest paid player in the club’s history.
Salah finally made up his mind to stay, after there had been doubts if the Egypt forward would stay since he only had a year left on his previous deal.
In reaction to the development, coach of the Reds, Jurgen Klopp made some comments. He said:
“It’s the best decision for us and best decision for him. He belongs with us I think. This is his club now,”
“This is a special treat for our supporters to enjoy their weekend even more. I’m sure there will be some celebrations for this news tonight.”
On his feats so far, within five years at Anfield since moving from Roma, Salah has scored 156 goals in 254 appearances.
He has also expressed his feelings concerning the new deal, stressing that he is excited. “I feel great and I am excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone. We are in a good position to fight for everything,” the talented player said.
Other titles Salah has won at Anfield are, the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Fifa Club World Cup and Uefa Super Cup.
While with Klopp’s side, he has also won or shared three Premier League Golden Boots and been named the PFA player of the year twice.
With so much confidence in Salah, Klopp said,
“I have no doubt Mo’s best years are still to come. And that’s saying something, because the first five seasons here have been the stuff of legend”.
Meanwhile, there are opportunities for Salah to achieve more feats as his team mate, who is also an attacker, Sadio Mane moved to Bayern Munich this summer.
Liverpool as a club has also done very well, after clinching the FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season.
Unfortunately, they lost the Champions League final to Real Madrid and Premier League to Manchester City.
