Newcastle United coach, Steve Bruce has been sacked after the new owners of the club Saudi Arabian-backed consortium, led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), completed a £305m takeover on October 7, 2021.
This development is coming, 13 days after the club’s takeover by a Saudi-led consortium; as Bruce thinks of retirement as he leaves the club, Sky Sports reports.
While Graeme Jones takes charge on an interim basis, former Roma boss, Paulo Fonseca is a strong contender to replace Bruce as he is expected to hold talks with Newcastle this week.
On their last match, Newcastle had a disappointing loss to Tottenham Hotspurs on Sunday.
The match was Bruce’s 1,000th as a manager at the club.
