Granada on Thursday beat Barcelona 2-1 in the ongoing Spanish La Liga.
The surprise home defeat for Barca is a huge loss because a win would have given them the chance to go top of the La Liga table.
The efforts of Lionel Messi gave Barca hope after the talented player had a combined effort with Antoine Griezmann to give the host the first goal.
Darwin Machis’ equaliser in the second half was good enough to punish Barca for the several opportunities they missed, especially to take the lead.
Substitute Jorge Molina then headed in the winner for the visitors late.
Talking about Barca’s opportunity, victory would have put Barcelona one point clear at the top of the table with five games to go but instead they stay third, two points behind leaders Atletico Madrid and level with Real Madrid.
On their next match, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid meet in what looks set to be a crunch battle in the title race on Saturday, 8 May.
