Thousands of Lagos commuters were stranded Tuesday morning at various bus stops due to shortage of commercial vehicles.
This is due to fuel scarcity as observed by our correspondent who monitored the situation around Lekki area of Lagos State.
The busy Lekki-Epe Expressway is less busy this morning due to the fuel scarcity leaving its daily commuters stranded at different bus stops.
There are few private and commercial cars on the road this morning, making the road free from its usual morning traffic surge although there’s still traffic on the road but it’s caused by the surge at few fuel stations along the road.
It takes about 15-20 minutes to get a vehicle for commercial commuters with few spaces there by making a “Survival of fittest” scenario and of course people are overwhelmed with anger and frustration.
There’s also 10-20% increase in transport fare this morning by bus drivers and taking a bike seems to be a way out but it also costs an arm and a leg.
