Ukraine has told its citizens living in Russia to leave the country as soon as possible, due to as Kyiv believes Moscow may be planning an invasion.
This development was disclosed in a statement which was released on Wednesday by the Ukrainian foreign ministry who stated that its citizens Russia should leave and those attempting to travel to the country should not make an attempt.
The ministry statement read: “Due to the increased Russian aggression against Ukraine, which, among other things, may lead to a significant restriction of the ability to provide consular assistance on the territory of the Russian Federation, the ministry of foreign affairs recommends that Ukrainian citizens refrain from any travel to the Russian Federation, and those who are in this country immediately leave its territory,”
Meanwhile, the country’s top security official says a state of emergency which will last 30 days is to be declared in the country that has at least three million of its citizens living in Russia.
However, part of the preparation is the plan is that Ukraine is also conscripting reservists into the regular military as it braces for a possible invasion by its neighbour.
On how the alleged invasion will affect the business and economy of the country, while the crisis escalates, western countries and their allies have imposed sanctions on Russian banks and MPs.
