Famous female tennis star, Serena Williams has been thrown out of 2021 Wimbledon due to the injury she sustained while working towards winning her 24th Grand Slam title.
The game ended with a pathetic situation for Williams, who has won 23 Grand Slam singles titles; as she stated that she is “heartbroken” after her latest attempt against Aliaksandra Sasnovich.
Williams, 39, at the moment, is the only female tennis player with second-most Grand Slam single title of all time behind Margaret Court (24); but her game against Sasnovich was characterised by heavy strapping on her thigh which made her slipped in the fifth game.
Emotions became the order of the day for Williams as she was forced to give up, again in the seventh game.
After the game, Williams expressed her emotions with comments as the Centre Court gave a standing ovation, she said, “The court meant the world to me” as she made her exit.
She did not forget to appreciate her fans and the crowd, with tears in her eyes.
Williams has revolutionized women’s tennis with her powerful style of play and for winning more Grand Slam singles titles (23) than any other woman or man during the open era.
