Joshua To Face Usyk In Heavyweight Rematch

British boxer, Anthony Joshua and his Ukrainian rival, Oleksandr Usyk are both ready for their heavyweight rematch on Saturday, August 20 at the indoor arena of King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Tagged ‘The Rage on the Red Sea’, the much anticipated fight has attracted the attention of boxing fans globally, since WBC champion Tyson Fury confirmed his retirement.

Fury’s retirement means the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO world titles will all be on the line, and the Ring Magazine strap.

The extended undercard is set to begin from 3.30pm UK time, while the main event ring walks are expected at around 10.30pm with promoters Matchroom confirming the first bell is set to sound at 10:54pm in the UK, which is gone midnight local time.

Back in September 2021, Usyk defeated Joshua 32, in their first fight at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium prompting the Briton to losing his world heavyweight titles in the process.

Meanwhile, the rematch out to have taken place in May but the ongoing situation in the champion’s homeland resulted into a delay in the fight.

Considering his passion for the war-torn country, Usyk went back to Ukraine and joined the military in defence of his nation after the Russian invasion which began in February.

The 35-year-old later received permission from his country’s sports minister to return to his training camp and gear up for the epic rematch with Joshua.
