The involvement of Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid in the proposed European Super League has made Uefa to open disciplinary proceedings against them.
Before this development occurred, it was recorded that the clubs were part of the 12 ‘founding’ members of the breakaway league, which later collapsed.
Meanwhile, Uefa is not silent about the issue, and has forge ahead with an attempt to open proceedings against the three “for a potential violation of Uefa’s legal framework”.
Uefa has continued with its relentless efforts to address the issue. The renowned football body has even gone ahead to release a statement on Tuesday.
The statement by Uefa read: “Following an investigation conducted by Uefa ethics and disciplinary inspectors in connection with the so-called ‘Super League’ project, disciplinary proceedings have been opened against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for a potential violation of Uefa’s legal framework. “Further information will be made available in due course.”
