Atletico Madrid on Saturday won the 2020-2021 Spanish La Liga title for the first time since 2014.
It was a competitive match as Atletico Madrid clinched the title after their 2-1 triumph over Valladolid, on the final which was characterised by dramatic moments.
Considering the points and margin on the table after the season ended, Diego Simeone’s men finished two points above cross-town rivals Real Madrid.
The loss for Real Valladolid on Saturday means the Italian side will suffer relegation.
The win for Atletico has also come at a time that there is serious imbalance of power between Real Madrid and Barcelona when it comes to finance.
Meanwhile, with Simeone grabbing his second league title, the game has changed for the consistent winners of the La Liga ( Real and Barca), which also means that Spanish football is gradually taking a decisive shift.
