Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal has reportedly shown interest in signing football legend, Lionel Messi in a huge deal worth a whopping £245million per year.
If the deal becomes successful, the offer would beat the £177m-a-year-contract signed by Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this month after he completed a move to Al-Nassr.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Messi has the opportunity to get a higher salary above Ronaldo’s which will make him the highest-paid player in world football.
However, there are reports in France that the World Cup winner has a verbal agreement with the Ligue 1 champions to extend his stay at the club, even though he will be will be a free agent in the summer.
PSG’s proposal appeared the most lucrative, despite links with Inter Miami and a return to Barcelona.
So far, Al-Hilal have the highest pay for Messi above other clubs, which makes them the major players in the race get the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner.
A close look at the table in the Saudi Pro League, Al-Nassr sits on top, while Al-Hilal occupies the third position.
Interestingly, the two sides are rivals and contest the Riyadh derby when they go head to head.
