An eyewitness has revealed that the Owo attack which occurred on Sunday, was carried out by gunmen, on St. Francis Catholic Church in Ondo state, which left many people dead, and others injured.
Speaking further, the eyewitness stated that the attackers, after disguising as worshipers, stormed the church and kidnapped a Reverend Father.
Meanwhile, the source also said the Police Division in Owo town and Area Command had no official patrol van to get to the scene of the crime, while the inhumane act was carried out.
He also stated that they had almost 50 men on standby at the ACPOL, Owo but there was no means of mobility to convey them to the scene of the attack.
According to the eyewitness, whose vehicle was high jacked, the criminals did not come with vehicles; rather, they hijacked a vehicle on the road, to take their victim away.
After experiencing the hijack, the owner of the vehicle went to Owo A. Division to report.
So far, Owo township roads have been deserted as people stayed off the roads.
