The state of the war in Ukraine has prompted US President, Joe Biden to call for the trial of Russian President, Vladimir Putin for war crimes.
Mr. Biden made this statement after the recent attack in Bucha, Ukraine which led to the alleged loss of lives, coupled with the evidences of the atrocities allegedly committed by Russian forces in the country.
Currently, the alleged killing of civilians in the town near the capital Kyiv, has triggered reactions globally, thereby mounting international anger from concerned people.
Mr. Biden, speaking to BBC reporters about the situation, tagged Putin brutal and a war criminal. In his words, “This guy is brutal,” Mr. Putin “is a war criminal”.
In response to the situation, Russia revealed that images of atrocities had been staged by Ukraine, even without them having evidence of their claims.
Meanwhile, there is publication of new satellite photos by the earth observation company Maxar, which appear to show bodies lining Bucha’s streets during its occupation by Russian forces. This was an effort from Mr Biden’s intervention.
Going memory lane, there were previous evidences of photos by the New York Times which showed at least 11 bodies on the streets since 11 March, when Russian forces controlled the city.
Further claims by Russian forces reveals are that footage and photos from the city were staged with emphasis that no civilians suffered under the Russian occupation of Bucha.
Another evidence from the satellite images has timings which appears to disprove the idea that the bodies only appeared after Russian soldiers left.
