Kherson, a city in the south of Ukraine, has been brought down by Russian forces, since the invasion in the country started.
After the city experienced several explosions, the Russian forces finally brought down the city which has been regarded as the country’s first major city.
The fall became possible after Russian forces made several attacks in major cities especially fighting raging in the north, east and south.
So far, four major explosions which have lit up the night sky in Kyiv, were captured by witnesses on video.
The conflict has attracted multiple sanctions from Russian and Belarus. Athletes from both countries have been banned from the Winter Paralympics.
The situation has also increased the number of displaced people seeking for refuge.
According the United Nations, one million refugees have now fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries
The war has also attracted concerns from the International Criminal Court. The intergovernmental organization and international tribunal that sits in The Hague, Netherlands has opened an investigation into potential war crimes by Russia in Ukraine.
Meanwhile, the death toll has surged in hundreds, especially in the southern port of Mariupol, hours after sustained shelling.
