Former Vice President Joe Biden has repeatedly slammed Donald Trump over his “close to criminal” handling of the coronavirus pandemic during an election event in Pennsylvania.
According to Evening Standard, the Democratic presidential nominee attacked Mr Trump on Thursday for downplaying the crisis, saying: “You’ve got to level with the American people — shoot from the shoulder”.
This development occurred after a recording was released of the US president admitting to journalist Bob Woodward that he played down the severity of the Covid-19 crisis to the pubic earlier this year.
Speaking at a CNN drive-in town hall crowd in Moosic, outside his hometown Sracton, Mr Biden gave scathing criticism of “a thoroughly, totally irresponsible administration”
He said: “You’ve got to level with the American people — shoot from the shoulder. There’s not been a time they’ve not been able to step up. The president should step down,”
Mr Biden said: “He knew it and did nothing. It’s close to criminal.”
