The tracklist for the latest album of renowned US rapper Jay-Z, titled The Ascension, which features some Nigerian artistes and others, will be released in a few weeks time.
The music star has an African-themed album which features Olamide, Femi Kuti, Nasty C and Sarkodie from Africa.
While the foreign artistes features Beyoncé, Rick Ross, H.E.R and the duo of Lighthouse family.
The music icon has made comments about this development. He said, “I’ve always wanted to get in touch with my roots and connect to the motherland. You know, Africa is blessed with so much talent and I felt like it was time to tap into that resource. The Ascension is not just talking or focusing on Africa but it’s also about me giving back to the people, familiarizing with the culture and connecting more with the motherland.”
Without mincing words, Jay-Z has appreciated the fact that his wife Beyonce in 2019 dropped Lion King, which featured Wizkid, Burna Boy, Tekno, Tiwa Savage, and other African acts.
With such feat from Beyonce, Jazy Z obviously wants to take a cue from his wife, starting with the release The Ascension album.
