Australia To Reopen International Borders

The borders of Australia is set to be open to vaccinated tourists and other visa holders for the first time in almost two years.

The Prime Minister Scott Morrison, while making the announcement said, “If you’re double vaccinated, we look forward to welcoming you back,”

There are signs that this development which will take place on 21 February will be a plus to various sectors including international education.

Going memory lane, due to the severe covid spread, Australia had no option than to impose strict border controls throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

After barring most foreigners from entering the country and put caps on total arrivals to help combat Covid, in March 2020, the government closed the borders.

Meanwhile, it is a different thing entirely for some international students and skilled migrants who have been permitted to enter the country since last December.
