NIG 2 USA On Bicycle, Day 54: Emmywuks Pedals To Liberia From Côte d’Ivoire

When Emmanuel “Emmywuks” Myam set off on his battered bicycle from Benue State, few could have imagined the magnitude of his dream.

But for this 25-year-old Nigerian, the road to greatness is paved with grit, sweat, and a heart full of purpose.

Today, after 54 grueling days, Emmywuks has cycled his way into Côte d’Ivoire, carrying with him not just a story of endurance, but a mission to inspire Africa and give a voice to vulnerable children.

The Beginning: From a Village Dream to a Global Vision

Emmywuks’ journey didn’t just start on July 1, 2025, at the LASU gate in Lagos—it began years earlier. In 2022, he cycled from Makurdi to Lagos just to meet his idol, Afrobeats superstar Davido. In 2023, after surviving a near-death experience from appendicitis, he vowed to dedicate his second chance at life to something greater: using cycling to raise awareness for orphans and displaced children across Africa.

His latest adventure—a transcontinental bicycle ride from Nigeria to the USA—is a daring 10-month odyssey that will span 16 countries across Africa, Europe, and North America.

Day 1–5: Benue to Benin Republic

The first few days tested his willpower. With minimal gear, harsh rains, and unpredictable roads, Emmywuks pushed through southwestern Nigeria until he crossed into Cotonou, Benin Republic, on Day 5. There, locals welcomed him warmly—feeding his spirit with encouragement and support.

Day 6–8: Togo’s Narrow Roads

By Day 8, he pedaled into Togo, a small but mighty stop on his journey. The narrow highways and humid air made every stroke harder, yet he celebrated the milestone: “One country at a time, one victory for the voiceless.”

Day 9–22: Ghana – Triumph and Setback

Ghana became both a triumph and a trial. On Day 10, Emmywuks crossed into Accra, greeted by jubilant supporters and even a convoy of Ghanaian cyclists who escorted him into the capital.

But his momentum stalled when customs officials seized his equipment—a drone, laptop, and hard drives vital for documenting the mission. For days, he was locked in bureaucratic uncertainty, yet he refused to quit. “This journey is bigger than me,” he said. “It’s about the children whose stories need to be heard.”

Day 54: Côte d’Ivoire – Pedaling Into New Horizons

After recovering from the Ghanaian setback, Emmywuks pressed forward into Côte d’Ivoire, marking his 54th day on the road. Each border crossing carried risks—safety concerns, weather extremes, fatigue—but his determination never wavered.

By the time he reached Abidjan, the Ivorian commercial hub, he had become more than a lone cyclist. He had grown into a continental symbol of resilience, embodying the spirit of African youth who dare to dream beyond limitations.

While riding and aiming to hit Liberia, he gave an update of his journey so far, to his fans and the world. In his words,

”DAY54 NIG2USA ON BICYCLE 🇳🇬🚴🇺🇲
Welcome to Danané! 🇨🇮🚴🏽
This will be our last stop for tonight. I’m not inside the main town yet, but I’m just a few minutes away, and that’s good enough after a long day on the road. 🙏

I want to sincerely appreciate everyone who has been riding with me, cheering, praying, and following this journey. It’s your support that gives me the extra push when my strength is low.

By God’s grace, tomorrow Liberia will open its arms to receive me. One step closer, one border nearer, and together we keep moving.
Let’s go and get a place to camp.
The time is 8:33 pm here. Nig is 1hr ahead

Together we ride, together we rise.
Viva Africa🌍.

What Lies Ahead

Côte d’Ivoire is just another chapter. Ahead of him lies the Sahara Desert, North Africa, Europe, and eventually the Atlantic crossing to the United States. Emmywuks envisions arriving in America not as a tourist but as a messenger—spreading hope and amplifying the voices of Africa’s forgotten children.

Why This Journey Matters

Emmywuks’ odyssey is more than a cycling stunt—it is a human story of purpose over comfort, conviction over fear, and advocacy over silence. At every stop, he uses his platform to raise awareness about orphans, displaced families, and the need for social support across Africa.

This isn’t just a man on a bicycle. This is Africa on the move—powered by two wheels, a dream, and a cause too big to ignore.
