Fast food giant, McDonald’s has sacked former CEO Steve Easterbrook and asked to pay the sum of after having a relationship with an employee of the company.
This development prompted McDonald’s to settle a lawsuit with Easterbrook, forcing the executive who was shamefully laid off to repay his severance package of more than $100 million.
Going memory lane, Easterbrook who was fired in 2019, violated the company policy by demonstrating “poor judgment involving a recent consensual relationship with an employee.”
According to the suit filed against the Easterbrook by the company in August 2020, the debased former CEO lied to the board about the extent of his relationships with employees.
He was also criticised by the company for his “misconduct, lies, and efforts to impede investigations into his actions” and that the settlement is the best path forward.
