Brazil v Argentina Match Suspended Due To Covid Violation

Minutes after kick-off Brazil and Argentina’s World Cup qualifier game on Sunday, the match was suspended because three Argentine players allegedly broke quarantine rules.

This development also led to a situation which made Brazilian health officials objected to the participation of the team.

After the officials came out to stop the game while the visitors walked off the pitch at the Corinthians Arena.

Meanwhile, Brazil’s health authorities have taken the situation serious and mandated four England-based players for Argentina to quarantine.

The name of the players with the club they play for are: Emiliano Buendia and Emiliano Martinez of Aston Villa, and Giovani lo Celso and Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur.

As for Martinez, Lo Celso and Romero, they were featured from the beginning in the game at Sao Paulo.

Concerning the event that led to the suspension, Fifa will now gather evidence from all sides before decision will be made on the next option to make.
