Senegal have lost their first match 2-0 on Monday to the Netherlands in the 2022 Qatar World Cup at the Al Thumama Stadium.
Late goals from Cody Gakpo and Davy Klaassen sealed the win over the African champions Senegal in Group A.
Unfortunately, Bayern Munich star Sadio Mané, the Lions of Teranga superstar was not on the pitch during the match as they battled hard, could not find a way past the debutant Dutch goalkeeper Andries Noppert.
The Dutch at the moment are in a strong position in the group, with matches against Ecuador and hosts Qatar to come.
Although, the match was played with some sits empty and the attendance was given as 41,721 – more than the stadium is actually listed to hold.
However, without doubt, the best chance of the first half was not utilised by Barcelona playmaker Frenkie de Jong in the 19th minute.
