Chelsea 2- 2 Tottenham: Conte, Tuchel Sent Off

Chelsea and Tottenham on Sunday ended their highly competitive match with 2-2 draw as managers of both clubs, Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were  sent off at Stamford Bridge

Before they were sent off, there was an issue between both coaches throughout the second-half, but ended after Harry Kane had scored a last-gasp equalizer for the visitors, at the blast of the final whistle.

The misunderstanding between both coaches transcended into some unusual gestures when they both had the usual handshake.

Meanwhile, staff and players from both sides were not left out as they displayed their grievances on each other, all in support of their bosses.

In reaction to the situation, Tuchel while speaking to BBC said:

“It was hot from the temperature and hot between the benches and hot on the field and hot between the spectators — everything that you want and what you hope for in a match like this early in the season,”

“There’s no hard feelings. I feel like it was a fair tackle from him [Conte] and a fair tackle from me.

“We did not insult each other, we did not hit each other, we were fighting for our teams and, from my side, there’s absolutely no hard feelings. I’m surprised that we both got a red card for that.”

On the major reason that triggered the misunderstanding, it could be recalled that earlier in the game, Conte irked Tuchel with his enthusiastic celebrations when Tottenham initially equalized to make it 1-1, as Pierre-Emile Højbjerg cancelled out Kalidou Koulibaly’s opener.

The mood of the game changed when Reece James made it 2-1 to Chelsea, with the German running down the touchline after admitting the match “sucked me in.”

Kane killed the hope of the Blues winning the match when he sank Tuchel’s men with the last goal of the match.
