Germany Qualify For 2022 World Cup After North Macedonia 4-0 Win

Germany’s 4-0 win against North Macedonia on Monday, has made the country the first team to join hosts Qatar at the 2022 World Cup.

Goals from Harvertz, Werner and 18-year-old former England youth international, Jamal Musiala made the difference in the qualifying match.

Thomas Muller played a vital role in the first goal which was scored in the second half by making a superb pass to Kai Havertz, who finally slotted the ball into the net.

Timo Werner smashed home the second following Muller’s superb flick and also curled in a delightful third.

The Germans could have had more, but Chelsea forward Werner rattled the post with a thumping low drive on the stroke of half time, but managed to score twice as his side got the job done with clinical finishing in the second period.

Interestingly, Musiala, an ex-Chelsea academy graduate did not only score two goals in the match but achieved the feat of netting a first senior goal on his ninth cap after playing 19 times for various England youth teams and decided to play for Germany through his mother.

With only Brazil (21) appearing more times, Hansi Flick’s men, who are four-time world champions, reach the tournament for the 20th occasion.
