Tottenham Meets Ex-Roma Boss Paulo Fonseca Over Manager Role

Paulo Fonseca May Be Appointed As Spurs Boss.

Former Roma boss, Paulo Fonseca may be named the new manager of Tottenham Hotspurs if discussions to bring him onboard comes through.

Jose Mourinho, has replaced his fellow Portuguese tactician, Fonseca in the Italian club after he was sacked from the Premier League club in April.

Since Mourinho’s exit from Spurs, the club has been looking for a replacement for the former Manchester United coach.

Although, talks have started with Spurs but they are yet to agree a deal with Fonseca at the moment, even though advanced talks with Antonio Conte started earlier.

A seventh-place finish for Roma was not good to end the season, but it is on record that Fonseca impressed at Roma but lost his job at the end of the day.

On their feats, one of the most remarkable one was their performance at the Europa League, but were thrown out of the tournament in the semi-finals by Manchester United.

On Fonseca’s recent profile, he replaced Claudio Ranieri at Roma after three years with Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine and coached Porto and Braga in his homeland.

He has a good record at Shakhtar after winning three successive doubles in charge of the club between 2016 and 2019.  He also went ahead to clinch the Portuguese Cup with Braga in 2016 and a Portuguese Super Cup with Porto in 2013.

Meanwhile, there are plans by Spurs to appoint Fabio Paratici as the new sporting director, after 11 years at Juventus.
