Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress on Tuesday stormed Lagos streets in Ikeja to embark on a solidarity protest in support of the striking Academic Staff Union of Universities.
The leadership of union in the last one week had been gathering its members and that of the ASUU for the protest. ASUU has been on strike since February over failure of the Federal Government to fulfil the agreement it had with the lecturers.
Labour Unions in Edo State also joined others across the country to express their displeasure on day one of their two-day revolt in solidarity with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU over the Five months-long-standing strikes.
Recall that the Nigeria Labor Congress in its recent meeting vowed to join the Academic Staff of universities in the campaign against the lingering strike and other issues affecting the country, despite the government opposing the position of the labor leaders.
