BET Awards 2024: Tems Wins Again (See Full List)

Nigerian music star, Temilade Openiyi, well known as Tems, has won another BET Awards at the Peacock Theater in Downtown Los Angeles on Monday.

At the prestigious ceremony, Tems beat top stars like Kirk Franklin, CeCe Winans, Maverick City Music, and others to win the Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational Award with her 2023 song, Me & U.

The 2024 BET award will be her fourth for the Grammy awards winner, who in 2022, won the award for Best International Act and Best Collaboration for Wizkid’s ‘Essence’.

The American award show which acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of Black entertainers and other underrepresented groups in music, film, sports and philanthropy was, established in 2001 by Black Entertainment Television.

She also won the Best Collaboration award for her song with Drake and Future “Wait for U” in 2023. The song also received the same price at the BET Hip Hop Awards in 2022.

Another music artiste, South Africa’s Tyla also won the awards for Best New Artist and Best International Act earlier in the night.
