The burial of renowned Nigerian music artiste Olanrewaju Fasasi, well known as Sound Sultan has taken place in New Jersey, Us on Sunday.
According to a statement from which came from his family members on Sunday morning, the talented Nigerian artiste was buried according to Muslim rites after his death was announced the same day.
Sound Sultan, 44, passed on after a “hard-fought battle” with the Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL), a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma, says his relative, Kayode Fasasi, who signed the statement.
Until his death, the veteran Nigerian artiste who will always be remembered for his philosophical song, ‘Jabganjantis’ was survived by a wife, Farida, three children and his siblings.
It was a pathetic moment as Farida, was held and consoled when crying, while her late husband’s coffin was finally lowered into the grave.
