Norway: Suspect Named In Bow-And-Arrow Attack

A suspect, Espen Andersen Bråthen has been named by the Norwegian police in Wednesday’s bow-and-arrow attack in Kongsberg which resulted into the death of five people and three injured persons.

On the latest report concerning the gruesome act, the Norwegian Police have disclosed that the case looks like an act of terrorism.

After interrogation, police have yet to reveal the charges Bråthen faces, but is due to appear in court on Friday, 37-year-old Danish citizen.

On the latest report of the alleged terrorism, the Norwegian Police Security Service (PST) are yet to conclude while investigation is ongoing.

Meanwhile, Police chief, Hans Sverre Sjøvold has made update about Thursday’s attack known to the public.

While the investigation continued, it was discovered that officers also revealed the suspect had converted to Islam after officers had been in contact with the man, especially with concerns related to radicalization, another officer, Ole Bredrup Sæverud noted.

Going memory lane, Sæverud disclosed that the police had “received no reports in 2021 regarding radicalization”, stressing that Bråthen had not appeared on their radar this year.
